Professional Farm Mutual Manager Designation (PFMM)

The NAMIC Professional Farm Mutual Manager (PFMM) designation formally recognizes the educational accomplishments and dedication to professionalism of the progressive farm mutual manager and farm mutual leaders.

Becoming A PFMM

  • Submit a completed Professional Farm Mutual Manager application with a one-time $50 administrative fee. We recommend submitting applications prior to starting the process so we can best track your event attendance.
  • Serve in a management role in a farm mutual insurance company or in a management role that actively and regularly works with farm mutual insurance companies.
  • Have a minimum of five years property/casualty insurance experience at the time of completion.
  • Attend, in any order, the three PFMM modules as well as one additional in-person NAMIC event, excluding the Annual Convention all in five years.
  • Sign the PFMM sign-in sheets onsite at NAMIC events. The PFMM Courses at Convention use an electronic attendance tracking system.
  • New PFMMs are certified on August 1 of each year regardless of when requirements were completed.

Once Certified

  • The new PFMM class is formally recognized at the Annual Convention during the FMC Annual Meeting of Members. Here, graduates receive the completion certificate, lapel pin, and participate in the class photo.
  • All PFMMs with an active, certified status will receive a 20% discount at NAMIC in-person events, where applicable. Discount applies only to the certified individual and is not transferable.
  • PFMMs must attend a NAMIC in-person event, excluding the Annual Convention, every 24 months in order to maintain an active, certified status. The first maintenance event must be completed no more than 24 months following the date of certification (August 1).

Individuals' records are maintained by NAMIC and transcript reports are distributed annually. While NAMIC will make every effort to maintain accurate records, individuals are responsible for reporting discrepancies immediately upon discovery.
