Political Heavyweights Square Off at NAMIC’s 117th Annual Convention
With all eyes on the November Elections, NAMIC convention attendees heard from two of the biggest names in the political world on the state of the campaigns and politics in America today.
Former Republican National Committee Chairman Haley Barbour and former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe appeared at NAMIC’s annual convention to discuss the elections and the current state of politics. The two bring a wealth of experience in national politics and an insider’s perspective that can’t be found anywhere else. Each was given the chance to outline their party’s view of the current state of politics amidst a contentious presidential campaign and a close race for control in the U.S. Senate.
In addition to serving as RNC chair, Barbour has also led the Republican Governors Association while serving as Governor of Mississippi, before returning to BGR Group, a lobbying group he helped found in 1991. McAuliffe began his political career at 23, and chaired the successful re-election committee for former President Bill Clinton as well as former Senator and current Sec. of State Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency.
