CCP Readies for 2009

NAMIC’s Congressional Contact Program is winding down for the year, and plans are already in the works for what promises to be an even more eventful 2009. By year’s end, we expect to have 38 CCP visits from a total of 36 states with two delegations coming to D.C. twice.

Next year will likely be an even busier year for CCP, as a new administration takes over the White House and the makeup of Congress changes. Property/casualty insurance-related issues are expected to take center stage in Congress, especially insurance regulatory reform and credit-based insurance scoring. It is vitally important NAMIC members keep up the great work of informing and educating their members of Congress about the effects these, and other issues have on their businesses.

If you’ve never been to CCP, 2009 will be a terrific year to become involved in this unique grassroots program. You’ll spend the day talking one-on-one with members of the congressional delegation from your state. This is your opportunity to influence Congress on legislation that directly impacts you, your business and your policyholders.

If you are thinking about visiting D.C. to meet with your lawmakers on Capitol Hill next year, please contact us ASAP so we can accommodate you with the dates you want.
