NAMIC's Political Action Committee is raising its sights. On the heels of record receipts last year and new attacks on the insurance industry coming out of Washington, D.C., and state capitols, the NAMIC PAC board of trustees is setting more aggressive goals for 2007. The board plans to continue the record-setting fundraising pace, with an eye toward doubling the PAC revenue and amplifying the voice of NAMIC members in the halls of Congress.
"Politics is not a spectator sport. Simply put, we must send out a call to action to every NAMIC member that we need them to join our political efforts," said NAMIC CEO Chuck Chamness.
Members of the NAMIC PAC board of trustees began mapping out fundraising strategy during their quarterly meeting in NAMIC’s Washington, D.C., office April 12. They also had a chance to meet Jimi Grande, NAMIC’s new vice president of federal and political affairs.
Grande outlined strategies to grow the PAC, such as the new online advocacy tool that will increase the outreach efforts to state and national legislators enhancing NAMIC's grassroots and advocacy goals.
